Remember The Sketchbook Project 2012? Well, last week the tour came to London, and on Friday Harriet and I ventured to the Canada Water Library in Southwark to have a look.
That's Harriet reading my book! It was so surreal to hold it in my hands again, after it'd travelled 18,000 miles.
There were some truly beautiful books - it was amazing to see everyone's take on the themes, there were so many different medias and layouts, so inspirational. I signed up to this years project on the spot! I'm determined to do something more than a "straightforward" sketchbook this year. Haha.
I do wish we were able to go and choose books at random off the shelves - but to prevent books going missing, you had to 'check them out' using a computer and they were collected for you by staff of the Brooklyn Art Library. It looked like there were some fascinating one's there - some were really thick and Harriet spotted one with a crochet cover! Perfect.
There's still time to sign up! Click here for more details.
