Show & Tell: Purple and Picture Books

Happy Daisy Show & Tell Amy Edwards Green
Two projects that I'm working on at the moment. On the left, a gift for a friend - purple arm warmers that she can wear to keep her forearms warm while she cycles (knitted with 100% acrylic yarn so they can be washed easily). On the right, a book I've been flicking through in an attempt to get motivated for a certain piece of schoolwork I've been procrastinating over. Little Big Books Illustrations for Children's Picture Books is a beautiful book - if you're interested in Illustration for any audience it's definitely worth a read.

Show & Tell: Stocking Stitch and Fabric Yarn

Happy Daisy Amy Edwards Green Show And Tell
Welcome to Show & Tell, a new feature designed to inspire me to share more of my little creations and things I've stumbled upon.

I made a trivet out of scrap fabric yarn last week - whether I'll actually use it for putting underneath hot pans, or just hang it on the back of my kitchen door to brighten up the room, remains to be seen! I picked up the cup and saucer in a charity shop near my parents - lured in by the gorgeous colour and the pattern - it's so obviously stocking stitch and as a knitter, I wasn't about to pass that up!

Perfect for drinking hot chocolate and marshmallows out of, on cold winter's nights, which I cannot wait for. I'm not cut out for the hot summer weather we've been having. I'm looking forward to Autumn and blankets and hot water bottles.

Show and tell!

Happy Daisy moodboard monday

Just a quick post - it's been - and will continue to be - a busy few days here! But I just wanted to share these photos of a pouch I sewed last week.

The base fabric is hand dyed and stamped, and the whole thing was so much fun, if a little time consuming(!) to make.

I've got a feeling I shall be making more of these - I think they'll be good birthday or Christmas presents!

I hope you're having a good weekend! I'm going to get an early night so I can be up for work in the morning… Fingers crossed for better weather tomorrow (although I'll be inside, so I suppose I can't really complain)! Ax.
